Bridges release captivating indie-rock single Up!

Bridges continue to showcase their thoughtful, nuanced brand of indie-rock through the glorious new single, Up. Up is another trademark effort from a band who continue to mature from track to track. Bittersweet, reflective lyricism is underscored by angular guitar notes, a compelling, euphoric chorus and the sweet harmonic exchange between Ethan Proctor (guitar, vocals) and Chess Williams (keys, vocals).

Following on from the successful release of previous single Go Long, Up is the second cut to be unveiled in a run of singles that will culminate in the launch of their Empty Galleries EP in October 2021.

Glasgow's Crawford Mack shares new single Kicks!

Glaswegian artist Crawford Mack's playful new single is full of upbeat, sonic twists and turns that are bound to get toes tapping instantly. Kicks was written with the express purpose of having some fun, sparked by a moment in time; “I was out for a walk in Victoria Park and got caught by a wave of optimism from seeing a group of people hanging out with a speaker blaring Franz Ferdinand,” Mack explains. “I was actually taking a break from writing a slightly darker song, came back and changed the whole thing!”

After moving from Glasgow to London to study at The Guildhall School. Crawford Mack played with a variety of musicians on various projects, crossing genres from his original jazz background through rock to electronic and classical music. Since then, Mack has supported artists such as Tom Walker, Damien Dempsey and The Paper Kites, and played gigs at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, Islington Assembly Hall, SWG3, O2 Academy Liverpool and The Bedford. Further afield, he's played Fête de la Musique festival in Hanover, Sofar Sounds gigs in NYC & Philadelphia, and toured Mexico. Mack’s previous supporters include The Scotsman, Songwriting Magazine and God Is In The TV, as well as BBC 6Music’s Tom Robinson, BBC Radio Scotland’s Roddy Hart and Amazing Radio’s Jim Gellatly to name a few.

Eliza Shaddad shares stunning new single The Man I Admire!

Sudanese-Scottish artist Eliza Shaddad returns with the release of her stunningly introspective new single The Man I Admire, out now via Rosemundy Records.

Lyrically intimate and sonically tender, The Man I Admire showcases Eliza’s vulnerability as she tells the story of a romance amongst the melancholy of modern life. Channelling the likes of Joni Mitchell and Laura Marling, Eliza’s warm, hushed tones gently soar over delicately plucked guitar strings, allowing Eliza’s confessional lyricism to shine through. Recorded at Eliza’s home studio in Cornwall and produced by (newlywed) husband BJ Jackson, the forthcoming record introduces us to Eliza’s latest journey. “It documents my growth over the last couple of years,” Eliza explains, “working out womanhood for me, and what it means to be an artist, and independent boss, a daughter, a granddaughter, a friend, a wife.” The Man I Admire was mixed by Grammy Award winner Sam Okell (Celeste, PJ Harvey, Graham Coxon) and mastered by Tim Rowkins (Rina Sawayama).

Eliza’s previously released upcoming album tracks Blossom, Heaven and Now You're Alone have already received support from the likes of The IndependentThe Sunday Times, NOTIONClash Magazine and Pop Matters, as well as BBC 6Music’s Lauren LaverneGuy Garvey and Gideon Coe and BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders to name a few. Eliza’s version of Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstooda cover of one of her favourite artists Nina Simone, has been climbing the charts on iTunes and Shazam, and is the end credit song in the first episode of hit Netflix show Behind Her Eyes.

Irish artist Rebekah Fitch returns with Goodbye!

Irish alt-pop powerhouse Rebekah Fitch returns with her stunning new single Goodbye, out now.

Rebekah’s rich, emotive vocal soars effortlessly over intricate musicality, creating a sound that is heart-wrenchingly poignant as a result. Fraught with bittersweet desperation, it marries the deep gratitude for everything they have given them with the profound grief that comes in a parting of ways.

Talking about the single, Rebekah explains, “I have had several significant goodbyes in my life, but I never felt that I honoured them with enough recognition. I wanted to pay homage to those people that have had such profound influence on me and given me so much. In a time of so many goodbyes, I wanted to write something that people could weave into their own personal stories.”

Australian singer-songwriter Tom West returns with his charming new single Suffer For Your Love, out now via AntiFragile Music. The single is taken from West’s latest album I’m Livin’!, also out now.

Cinematic soundscapes soar effortlessly whilst West’s distinctive, androgynous vocal style is once again at the forefront. Fans of the likes of Jake Bugg and Ray LaMontagne will feel at home here. Talking about the single, West explains, “there was a period where I was working on these songs where I was self medicating pretty heavily and asking myself existential questions. I was thinking about the relationship between love and suffering”.

Milan-based quintet The Ghibertins release their poignant new single In Your Arms, out now.

Sweeping guitar twangs are met with orchestral soundscapes and heartfelt harmonies in order to create a sound that is full of grace. Fans of the likes of Fleet Foxes and Father John Misty will feel at home here. Frontman Alessio Hofmann explains, “In Your Arms is about our concept album’s protagonist living through his sixties. Diametrically opposed to our previous single 20149-Milano, this song wants to delicately transpose the serenity you feel in feeling loved and fulfilled regardless of all past mistakes. It is a warm, reassuring song just like a hug - hence the title. Writing this song is one that we remember with huge feelings of pride and affection.”

French post-punk band Versari unveil Brûle EP, including Gareth Jones remix!

French post-punk band Versari have returned with a four track EP featuring three incarnations of single Brûle, including a remix by renowned producer Gareth Jones (Depeche Mode, Einstürzende Neubauten, Wire, Erasure).

Brûle, a menacing bass-heavy standout from most recent album Sous la Peau, has been reimagined, remastered and shortened, and cuts deep to the heart of who Versari are. The EP also includes a Brûle remix by Erica Nockalls (The Wonder Stuff) as well as a remix of album track Des Images by School Daze.
