Up and coming alt.pop artist Nuala returns with her poignant new single Cry F**king Loud.

Hot on the heels of her stirring single Split Down The Middle, Nuala continues to showcase her versatility. A personal ode to past relationships, as well as a pointed commentary aimed at the current political discourse, Cry F**king Loud is a quirky, playful soundtrack packed full of wry, acerbic lyrics.

Describing the song Nuala said, “Cry F**king Loud is a tongue-in-cheek yet mildly aggressive song about reactionary, obnoxious ‘men’ who like to believe they hold the power and throw their toys out of the pram when things don’t go their way. This is illustrated by the hook line ‘you’re like a baby, when you cry you cry real fucking loud’. It was inspired by certain politicians, but also by the general self centred attitude that I have personally tackled in my everyday life.”

Cry F**king Loud is out now and available to stream on various platforms. The track is taken from forthcoming EP Me&Me.

LA-based artist Jordana Lilly returns with the release of her vibrant new single Locked Up, out now via Beardfire Music.

Combining R&B, funk and pop sensibilities, Locked Up is undeniably infectious from the offset. Jordana’s soulful vocal tone soars effortlessly over dynamic brass flourishes, contemporary rhythms and highly relatable lyrics in order to create a sound that feels both playful and poignant. Talking about the single, Jordana explains, "ironically, I wrote Locked Up before the world began its lockdown. It’s essentially about being stuck with yourself, and the journey to accepting that, then going so far as to celebrate it. Perspective shifting has saved my life and my sanity, more times than I can count. Maintaining positive mental health is all about doing the work - something I think the whole world is realizing right now.”

Bad Love combine synth pop soundscapes with heartfelt lyrics on A Place For Me!

Self-styled Sad-Boy Pop band, Bad Love, are delighted to announce the release of their bitter sweet new single, A Place For Me.

Blending their love of new-romantic icons such as Tears For Fears and The Cure with the anthemic-pop hooks of present-day artists like LANY and MUNA, Bad Love have cultivated a sophisticated modern pop sound.

Effortlessly combining contemporary, synth pop sounds with earnest, heartfelt lyrics, Bad Love create a hypnotic brand of pop music, as joyful as it is introspective. Slick, melodic and unerringly catchy, the single is elevated further by charismatic frontman Andy Gannon, who’s yearning vulnerability radiates throughout. The singer, emotional and sincere, explores the anxieties involved in discovering new love and about finding a way to let someone in, even if you’ve been hurt in the past. Listen to A Place For Me on SpotifyApple Music or via the Soundcloud link below.

George Barnett shares poignant cover of The Who's Baba O'Riley!

Innovative artist George Barnett is back with a poignant new cover of The Who’s Baba O’Riley out now via AntiFragile Music.

This exhilarating cover strips back the single right to its core, focusing instead on its meaning of freedom, relief and euphoria. George’s powerfully emotive vocal soars effortlessly over the gentle musicality, sounding akin to the likes of Bastille and Amber Run as a result. Talking about the single, George elaborates, “the first Who song I heard was Baba O’Riley. The song is so honest. There’s a rawness in the vocal, a yearning to connect, and that resonates with me. The lyrics remind me of a broken society, somewhere bleak with no hope, but inside that world is a person who is hopeful, someone who is willing to try to make things better. I wanted to cut to the essence of this song - that’s why it starts in such a stripped back way, just piano and my voice, letting the pure melody wash over you. I just feel like letting go and allowing good music to flow through me. The world needs this song now more than ever.”

Baba O'Riley is taken from George's EP, Make It Rain, out 28th August 2020, via AntiFragile Music.

Mark Lanegan and IYEARA release throbbing, darkwave remix album Another Knock At The Door!

Mark Lanegan and dark wave band IYEARA have combined their talents to release a remix of his entire 2019 album Somebody’s Knockingreimagined as Another Knock At The Door. Released on Mark's label Flooded Soil Recordings, the album is the first full record he has given to another artist to rework.

Characterised by opening single Playing Nero, IYEARA  have added a brooding, industrial edge to a beautiful, wistful original score. This was followed by She Loved You where they combined the throbbing synths of John Carpenter with the ethereal, ambient sonics of Tangerine Dream, to create their own cerebral take on the works of a unique, enduring artist.

The Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age front man's 11th solo album was a synth-laden and pulsating soundscape. IYEARA have reimagined the primal, guttural songs in their own image, each release offering something different to the listener.

Comprised of The Duke Spirit guitarist Toby Butler, producer Malcolm Carson and vocalist Paul O’Keeffe, IYEARA announced themselves in 2019 through the release of CONSEQUENCES EP; a record including a cover of Shout by Tears for Fears featuring The Duke Spirit’s Liela Moss. The group are also remixing the current Humanist ft Dave Gahan project.

Mark Lanegan Band - Another Knock At The Door (IYEARA remixes) is out now and available to stream and buy on SpotifyDeezer and Apple Music.
