Electronica duo Codex unveil glitchy new single Airport!

Manchester based duo Codex have released their glitchy new single Airport.

Fusing an eclectic range of influences, Codex organically blend warm, cerebral soundscapes with hypnotic electronic beats to create an atmospheric, brooding single. Opening with off-kilter analogue drum beats, Airport is intensified by the dream-like vocals of Shahriar Parast, the track menacingly building throughout, as Codex playfully experiment with textural sounds spanning influences from underground electronica to melodic pop.

With Airport out now, Codex are aiming to release more music later this year, with the band eager to share their sophisticated brand of electro with a wider audience.

Mark Lanegan and dark wave band IYEARA are delighted to announce a remix of his entire 2019 album Somebody’s Knocking, reimagined as 'Another Knock At The Door' (IYEARA remixes) and due for release on 21st August 2020.

To celebrate the announcement, IYEARA have unveiled single Playing Nero, adding a brooding, industrial edge to a beautiful, wistful original score.

The Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age front man's 11th solo album was a synth-laden and pulsating soundscape. In step with Lanegan's next move - a published memoir (Sing Backwards and Weep) - IYEARA have reworked the whole album, to scrutinise and reveal the nuances and atmospheres within, to re frame Lanegan's lyrics. IYEARA have reimagined the primal, guttural songs in their own image.

Comprised of The Duke Spirit guitarist Toby Butler, producer Malcolm Carson and vocalist Paul O’Keeffe, IYEARA announced themselves in 2019 through the release of CONSEQUENCES EP; a record including a cover of Shout by Tears for Fears featuring The Duke Spirit’s Liela Moss

Mark Lanegan Band - Another Knock At The Door (IYEARA remixes) is out on  21st August 2020, pre-order the forthcoming album here.

George Barnett releases seductive new single Parasite!

Dark-pop innovator George Barnett - also known as AKA George - returns with the release of his seductive new single Parasite, out now via AntiFragile Music.

Parasite once again showcases George’s unique ability to create cathartic alt-pop that is unapologetic and undeniably intoxicating. As compulsive bass lines vibrate beneath, vivid synths, an alluring guitar solo and George’s distinctively hushed vocals are able to soar. Talking about the single, George elaborates, “Parasite is about that grey area when you’re moving away from someone. They start to manipulate their way back into your mind. You become the parasite when you’re weak - you try to find a way back in because you feel lonely. And that's twisted. I've been on both sides. They both fuck you up.”
