MIKE WALSH

London-based Spanish artist, MIKE WALSH, showcased his unique brand of indie-pop through the release of debut single PICKINGFIGHTS in May 2021. Peaking at number 10 in the iTunes Charts, Spain, and playlisted on Amazing Radio, his tender, reflective style of songwriting struck a chord with a receptive audience at home and abroad. 

Blending elements of bedroom-pop, indie and classic pop structures, MIKE WALSH is now preparing to unveil his latest cut, RIDE, out on 25th June 2021. Exploring themes of love lost and the challenges we face in overcoming heartbreak in today’s, transient disconnected world, RIDE is the perfect display of Mike’s vulnerability. The track opens with Mike’s crisp, emotive vocal, steadily building throughout, and is neatly accented by hypnotic trance-like beats, mellow guitar notes and rich vocal melodies. RIDE is a yearning, thoughtful modern pop song and further underlines Mike's impressive ability to write and create complex, evocative music. 

Born into a Spanish/Irish family, Mike was brought up between London and Madrid, where he was exposed to the rich culture of the South of Spain. Embracing this Iberian culture, Mike has woven the passion and honesty it brings into his lyricism, melding this with admiration for inspirational songwriters such as Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain. The fusion of a multicultural upbringing, 80’s and 90’s pop icons, and Mike's love of contemporary artists such as Paul Jason Klein from LANY, Matthew Healy from The 1975 and Troye Sivan, has enabled Mike to cultivate a distinctive sound and look he can rightly call his own.
