Conscious hip-hop artist MC Salum prepares to release his vibrant new single Kaiba on 16th October 2020 via Lazy Tree Records.

Combining Guy Galactic’s crisp production style with LB Myles’ woozy electronic beats, Kaiba feels instantly reminiscent of the likes of Mount Kimbie or Flying Lotus. Rapper Mike Vincent Colville once again showcases his dynamically boisterous energy throughout, whilst guest vocalist Kolibri (Magnum Haus/Model Aeroplanes) creates stunning R&B-infused soundscapes on the chorus. Talking about the single Mike elaborates, “Kaiba captures the anticipation of a big occasion. The enigmatic howling which weaves through out the song provides the same sparkle and mystery of a night to remember. It plays like a flurry of melodic jabs, each verse a round of newfangled punch lines and silky flows. The chorus slaps you in the face to let you know that you have arrived, time to celebrate.”

Mike has been using the moniker MC Salum since 2018, although Mike and LB Myles originally met at school in Dundee. Since then, the pair have taken their time to hone their undeniably refreshing sound and with a debut album on the way, its seems 2020 could be an extremely exciting year for MC Salum. MC Salum has already received praise from the likes of TRENCH, The Scotsman and Tenement TV to name a few.
