Logan’s Close
Logan’s Close are an experimental duo who channel the baroque sound of the 60s and 70s and rework it in their own, inimitable style.
Born from a kinship of boredom in a small Scottish town, and a love of 60s music and harmonies, Logan’s Close have been together in various guises since 2014. Primarily the brainchild of Scott Rough (lead vocals, guitar) and Carl Marah (vocals, lead guitar), the band have a transient relationship with the the various members who have performed and recorded with them over the years.
Having been a fixture on the Scottish music circuit for a number of years, as well as supporting Temples in Spain, Logan’s Close recorded their debut album, Heart-Shaped Jacuzzi, in 2023.
The record charts the details of a dwindling romance, the lyricism telling the story of Scott’s own break-up, from the perspective of his ex partner. Setting the scene throughout, the record undulates through an emotional rollercoaster, before culminating in a reassuring sentiment that it’s okay for relationships to end, and that life will work out in the end.
Ambitious, dreamy and, at times, whimsical, Heart-Shaped Jacuzzi is a shimmering record from the first note to the last. Melodic, harmonious and thoughtful pop, Heart-Shaped Jacuzzi takes you on a literate journey through the ashes of a break-up, the emotions of which every listener can identify with.
Heart-Shaped Jacuzzi is out now.
