Rising dream-pop artist and producer Emily Magpie returns with her most bewitching release to date. Her debut album Let’s Talk About The Weather is out on 3rd April 2020.

Let's Talk About the Weather discusses our connection to each other, nature and ourselves in a time of climate crisis. “I wanted to make an album which sounds on the surface like alt-pop music, and is full of collected sounds from our times and the world around us,” Emily explains. “I feel like there’s a lot of hope and a yearning to connect to something deeper, and reassess what’s important, but also dark undertones of where we could be headed if we don’t wake up and change.” Let’s Talk About The Weather once again showcase’s Emily’s unique ability to create glittering spacial soundscapes that shimmer endlessly, as brooding swirls of electronics and effervescent melodies intertwine. Emily’s beautifully rich vocals soar effortlessly over the organic textures, creating a sound that is both seductive and spellbinding. Fans of the likes of Sylvan Esso and Overcoats will feel at home here.

Emily’s previous EPs - The Witching Hour and Be Your Own Light - received critical acclaim from DIY, Clash, The Line Of Best Fit, Earmilk and Mahogany, as well as BBC 6Music’s Tom Robinson and BBC Introducing. She has also wowed crowds at Boomtown and Green Man Festival, and has supported the likes of Let’s Eat Grandma and This Is The Kit. Catch Emily live at her album launch on Friday 23rd October 2020. This will be an immersive, empowering music event in the incredible old ash pit tunnels at the Loco Klub in Bristol. Emily (ukulele, synth, bass, keys) will be joined by Kieran Ball (guitar, synth, autoharp) and Jamie Brown (drums) in order to create a dynamic live sound that gets the audience moving. Emily intends to make this an accessible and engaging event, nurturing conversations and encouraging collective climate action.
