CHERITON
“...Harrison’s most enigmatic work to date.” - The Line of Best Fit
“…a dreamy new offering.” - Wonderland Magazine
Guitar-pop crooner CHERITON - aka Nick Harrison - returns with the release of his celestial new single So In Love out 24th September 2020 via So Good So Good.
Combining indie-pop, surf-rock and psychedelic sensibilities, Nick’s latest cut proves he is not afraid to defy genre. Brooding synths and jangling guitar twangs compliment Nick’s crisp, dynamic vocals effortlessly, creating a sound akin to the likes of Metronomy or Tame Impala as a result. Produced by Andy Hall Hall (Bastille, Fickle Friends, James Gillespie), So In Love is a song about time. “Set in two parts, it explores the initial pain of a break up, then revisits it later on,” Nick explains. “I wanted the passing of time to be a thought throughout so thats one of the reasons it’s in the 6/8 classic rock & roll style and has that metronomic rhythmic feel. It’s based on a few relationships in my life, my own/friends/families stories all smooshed together, I suppose they left lasting impressions in some way and I definitely think about them and draw on them whilst performing."
Based in London - but originally from Kent - Nick created the pseudonym of CHERITON in summer 2019. The release of his debut EP Parallel saw him gain critical acclaim from the likes of The Line of Best Fit, Earmilk, Clash Magazine and Atwood Magazine, as well as Abbie McCarthy’s BBC Introducing Kent radio show to name a few.
