Multi-instrumentalist Carl Street is delighted to announce the release of his country-tinged new single, Bunking the Midnight Train, out on 17th January 2020.

The title track from his debut album, due for release on 31st January 2020, Bunking the Midnight Train is a bittersweet, reflective piece of music tackling themes of everyday struggles, mental health issues and the strength we gain from loved ones to persevere.

Despite the weight of the subject matter, Bunking the Midnight Train is, sonically, an upbeat, comforting journey that offers a wry take on the difficulties we all face in our lives. Combining elements of traditional country with blues-style guitar segments and folk, Bunking the Midnight Train comes to life through the injection of Carl’s rich, earthy vocals.

Inspired by his partner Mandy, Carl Street endeavoured to write and record a full record of eclectic songs. Ranging from rock and pop to folk and funk, Bunking the Midnight Train highlights Carl’s ability to playfully defy genre; drawing upon various styles from the first track to the last. With the title track due for release in January 2020, visuals directed by and starring his brother Zachary Street to accompany the release, and the unveiling of the album itself, Carl Street will be aiming to start 2020 with a bang.
