Following the release of two albums, national airplay in his home country of Denmark and touring internationally, The Chairman is announcing his return with the release of single Elevator, out now via We Are Suburban.

Taking a year off to deal with anxiety and the personal demon’s that can raise their ugly head when in the pique of suffering, Lucas Berner, AKA The Chairman, has used the maelstrom as source of inspiration through the creation of haunting single Elevator. A song about trying to find the balance between making room for the storm clouds inside us and the necessity to suppress the deepest and darkest of our impulses. Elevator finds The Chairman embracing his trademark vocal tones, beautifully rich, warm and smooth, and neatly combining them with a sensual, sampled beat that bridges effortlessly into contemporary hip hop soundscapes; The Chairman pushing the boundaries of what is modern R&B.

Originally starting out as a simple bedroom project, The Chairman has taken huge strides over the last couple of years having gained great support in his native Denmark and beyond. Debut album 2064 helped Lucas cement his name back home, with him further enhancing this reputation with the successful release of album The Strange Life. With The Chairman having already made a notable impact out with Denmark with support coming from the likes of Clash Magazine and Amazing Radio, he’ll be looking to continue this success through the release of Elevator and close out 2018 in style.

Elevator is out now via We Are Suburban.
