“...an indie alt-pop dream.” - The Line of Best Fit

“…brooding but boundlessly creative…” - Clash

"…a dreamy left-field pop gem.” - DIY

Alt-pop duo stmartiins continue to push boundaries with their ambient new single, Saw The Moon, out on 18th October 2019 via LAB Records.

Combining their love of wonky pop and indie, stmartiins have been able to create their own enchanted sonic dreamworld. On Saw The Moon, languid melodies are entwined with woozy guitar tones, velvet-like vocals and a steady drum beat to create a sound that is both moody and arresting. Of the single, lead singer Katie Lynch explains, “it was written when we lived in Glasgow, in fact, it was the only thing we wrote in that time. Moving there was supposed to be an energising, creative experience for us but it became the opposite. The imagery in the song reflects how close we felt to our own creativity but then feeling it was out of reach. It is an angsty song, probably the last song that was derived from our teenage minds.”

Having met when they were twelve, Katie and Mark Johnston have been inseparable ever since. stmartiins have already gained the attention of the likes of NME.com, The Line of Best Fit, Clash, DIY and The Skinny to name but a few. They have also received support from Radio X’s John Kennedy and BBC Radio Scotland’s Vic Galloway. They have also been covered on Spotify’s New Music Friday and Hot New Bands playlists amongst numerous others. stmartiins are no stranger to the live circuit either, having already supported The Temper Trap, We are Scientists, Clean Cut Kid, Fatherson and Cigarettes After Sex.
